600GB?

That's a lot of.... backing up.... :P

That sounds like it's less then 1080p who did 1TB last billing period.

Maybe he downloaded a few raw Bluray disks (each can be around 50GB, so thats only 12 films, that doesn't sound so bad, if you want super-duper quality that is :P)
Though it would be hard pressed to download them legally...

He also could of been streaming 1080p videos from youtube... though there isn't much on youtube that is worth watching and in 1080p :(

But yeah it is possible to consume that much legally though unlikely :(  (unless you live in the US or somewhere in Europe where you can acutely stream allot of high quality films/tv series legally)

If NZ offered the same services (eg Hulu/Pandora) then just that would cut down on 90% of the "P2P" downloading. It's NZ's/industries own fault that their is so much P2P downloading.

Oh and back on topic, I do around 100GB each month.

Does this forum support polls? Because it'll be nicer than reading through pages of posts...

For my 5c, our average household usage (5 people) averages around 120GB per month.

Instead of dropping it why not limit it too 100gig cap - surely that would be enough for most.   Id prolly be happy with even a 75gig cap before I got limited bandwidth.

im actually kinda shocked...

I can see why it was bad for business, haha.

I can't believe some of these people doing 600GB-1TB a month.. I mean seriously.

Even our school with over 300-400 (sometimes more) users per day, we don't even hit that much. and the teachers (>100) use youtube, TV on demand, flash games, popcap, TradeMe, as well as all the websites the students use..

Our house has two BB connections in one is the Telstra 80 gig plan and the other is through Xnet. Both of these get maxed out regularly in fact i normally have to change the Telstra plan about 2.5 to 3 weeks in as reaching the data cap. I would most months we use 100 - 160 gig per month. Obviously some months are a lot less than that but on average i would say about 100gig.

If you have a VPN from someone like http://strongvpn.com/ then there is plenty you are able to stream as you can have up to three IPs (a mixture of .us and .eu ones) and suddenly all the US and Europen only services work ;)

1TiB is a lot too use in a month but I admit we were pushing it to see our limits. I think that 500-700GB is not a lot for our apartment which is currently seven people all of whom are fairly IT literate.

About 48GB average and median (50GB plan, was 38GB average when it was capped at 40GB). Would use 50GB if it wasn't so difficult to do on TelstraClear without it being so risky. 3 adults.
