I Just was about to cancel my account and get a refund when woosh increased the speeds,
it appears to be all good! :D

at 4.44pm today:
Download Speed: 1051 kbps (131.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 201 kbps (25.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

and early this morning did some of the other tests:

DateSpeed
May 2nd, 2006 4:47pm976.3 kbps
May 2nd, 2006 4:47pm826.9 kbps
May 2nd, 2006 4:42pm1117.9 kbps
May 2nd, 2006 3:16am1773.3 kbps
May 2nd, 2006 3:04am1089.2 kbps
May 2nd, 2006 3:03am1463.1 kbps

its not 2Mbps but guess $80/month for 10Gb and voip is ok..
(if someone knows of a better combo deal nows a good time to tell me cuz my money-back guarrantee expires tomorow! :)

I'm about 5 km from the  tower, I can't see it and I only have a booster aerial. Had a play with it's location and now have 4 bars on the modem. Anyway, here's the latest...

Download Speed: 1247 kbps (155.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 152 kbps (19 KB/sec transfer rate)
6.30am today.

Will be interesting to see what the variation is over the day...

I'm between 1.5 and 2 km's away from the tower, with a booster antenna.

Currently (7.50am), my speed is 799 down and 46 up.  Highest upload I've had since I started monitoring. Granted it's a foggy morning down south (Invercargill), but my results have been consistently inconsistent regardless of the weather.

Things have certainely slowed down tonight - latest speedtest:
Download Speed: 192 kbps (24 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 34 kbps (4.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

But that doesn't reflect how slow everything is taking to load...

It's probably everyone doing speedtests!!! taking up all the bandwidth...Laughing

Check the speedtest threads on this page and also check posts on my blog for some info.

It's not looking good for me at the moment... best I see around 300kbps down, and 50-100kbps up. Trying to aim the booster aerial towards Princess St base station across the harbour, but haven't found the ideal angle yet. (Reminds me of trying to twiddling with indoors TV aerials this...)

lol tell me about it... been trying all day to get a good signal, what makes it harder is that i dont have that dialer software to rely on, i just go by the speedtest site.

so far the best speeds ive been able to get are 950kbps down, 121 up but that lasted all of 2 mins before it was back down to just over 500kbps

but i guess i should complain considering some people with Telecoms 3.5mbit service in mt eden are only getting 150 - 200kbps
