Hi there,

My local exchange obviously got upgraded to ADSL2 as my router now claims a down link speed of 15000kilobits and an up of about 1000kiliobits.
(up from 3800/128)

What sort of real world speed should I be getting out of that ?  I tried www.speedtest.net  and got a result of about 7.5Mbit, which is nice!  But wonder if I need to tweak or configure my router for ADSL2 .. I just left it on automagic settings for now.

I'm on Xnet and the speedtest server was hosted by Xnet as well.

I live out in the bushy area of Titirangi.

Thanks

Hi, what plan are you on, if you are on an older River plan then it has a 128k upstream limit (in the BRAS) that will limit your downstream to around what you have 5Mb/s or similar.

I am on Telecom and have a sync rate of just over 17Mb/s and get speedtest results to xnets speedtest server of just over 15Mb/s pretty much anytime of the day.

Cyril
