I believe TelstraClear will not sell you ADSL if you are within the cable coverage area. Stupid they won't do the same deal on cable.
I'm paying $67.20 for cable 20GB andVoIP (Xnet). The neighbours are not keen on VoIP so were paying $90 or so for phone+dialup. I think now they have switched to phone + cable 20Gb which is $95.89

That is the kind of thing I am talking about when I say that door to door salespeople (of all varieties) are full of BS.

Telstra are not running fibre to the cabinet.  Chorus is.  And they also imply that FTTN is only available to TelstraClear customers, when reality is that any ISP can access the FTTN broadband, and in fact in almost every case it is done automatically as soon as the cabinet is connected - no matter which ISP you are with.

I feel like quitting Telstra Clear and killing my package with them (I'm not on a contract term anymore) and then rejoining.
Then again, I'm on cable...you would think they could do an even better deal with their own cable...man, I am annoyed now!

Thanks. I'll tell everyone I know in the 1/4 of the city that doesn't get cable. Can you PM the salesguy's name and cell number please.
