Tradertom: Whats happened to NZNET.I cant get -send email and now their ph has been disconnected according to Telecom-Anyone know name of Manager or the address of the company please txt 021313136

Here is the real story... Sealed
So... NZNET moves suppliers alot... obviously... Orcon, ICONZ, HD, VIBE Communications, MAXNET... who will be next... if any....

So yesterday at 5pm they went down for good 24+ hours and counting, Vibe Communications pulled the plug to their server room due to overdue accounts, in other words they don't pay for the bandwidth they sell  to you...

There DSL still kind of works because they are a Maxnet reseller so will be using maxnet shared bandwidth pool for the /24  ranges they have that maxnet controls.
I also heard through the grape ^ ^ they left Orcon, Iconz and HD with large bad debts...

They will only be at the above address until the 28th of this month because the land lord has kicked them out, they will end up back at C1-5 Douglas Alexander Parade Albany thereafter.

If you check out the traces they have dropped advertising bgp at Vibe, and now there is NO bgp advertisement up and running, hence they could be gone forever now!!!

I would get off that sinking ship if I was you!

Good luck - P.S. this is an official LEAK! Cool

I seriously think they have gone broke, and at the right moment, as today on the 20th they cash all our money !!!!!

This should be a big press story, i feel frauded.

The most ominous sign is that their site www.nznet.co.nz has disappeared.

Try to stop that payment this month as  do not think you will hear from these guys again !!!!

God it's just such a shame that http://www.hayai.co.nz/ isn't online yet to take over their customers. I'm still not quite sure why he's offline, I guess these takes it takes 16+ months to launch an ISP.

Interesting story - I thought the days of fly-by-nighters ISPs were gone, I guess not quite yet!

I think we should all email the TVNZ news dept and ask have they heard about any job loses at NZNET.
It's a horrible thing to happen to anyone, but job loses are always news worthy stories. If they don't know anything, it might be something they'd check up on. We might find out whats going on then.

It's pretty bad they've not really said anything. My partner said they sounded pissed off when she was talking on the phone to a woman up there.

Nothing on their (poorly looked after) facebook page. Seems no one over here utilisies FB fully. Even slingshot has only 800+ likes....

If the above "leak" is true then it would be illegal for them to continue taking money out of your accounts as they would be insolvent. In this case the directors are liable for prosecution and even jail I think.

I'd ask for people to NOT POST PERSONAL CONTACT DETAILS. It's a breach of privacy.

I have edited two posts removing contact numbers, including home number and mobile number.

www.nznet.co.nz is working for me and has been for most of the day. From what I can see one or more of their old providers were still advertising their prefixes. ISPs who have direct peering relationships with their providers were/are still taking the more direct path. Once the old providers stop advertising their prefixes their site will once again be accessible to all.

I suspect their unlimited DSL plans they were offering not so long ago were not such a great idea.

How is this possible?
I can not get www.nznet.co.nz to view.

I have tried from the fast internet connection i have in Christhcurch with Orcon and with the fast internet connection in greymouth with telecom.
can browse the whole of the Internet, but the www.nznet.co.nz website will not open.

Are you sure you are not looking at a cached image. Did you refresh your browser?
