femtaku: Im going to visit my boyfriend who lives just down the road from the nznet office so im going to pop im and pay them a visit in an hour or so. Will let you all know how it goes :)

Just got back from seeing them.
They assured me they arent going bankrupt/out of business. And that they are trying to have it all back by tomorrow morning (tonight at the earliest).

?

And you really believe them after all this ?

Remember, it is a long weekend, and when you visit them again on tuesday you will find an empty office.
The NZNet club appears to be a scam, and once more I would say, quickly cancel your direct debit as I did, or you pay their bills to the people who they own money to and never see your dollars back.

Today and tomorrow is where they take the dosh out of your account for the next month where you will have? no access.

Good luck, I jump ship and do not believe for a moment that tomorrow they will be up and running again.
are they really going to be gone soon? so we will be with no notice?? i cant transfer it would cost me 200 to?disconnect?ugh i wish i could jump ship

Most plans with these guys are without a disconnect fee. If they are dead in the water they are unlikely to charge you the 200$ fee and if they take you to court you have a good case to demonstrate their violation of any customer service code in just stopping to provide the service you pay for without giving you any notice or explanation in 3 days time.
if i were you, i would go to my bank and stop the payments you make to this company and then forget about the 200$ they can not charge you anyway as any dispute tribunal will be on your side with this service.

If you have doubts, then just call the people at consumer.org.nz and tell them what happened. they will advise you.

Well I've had 0 problems with NZNet in the year I've used them so don't see any reason to jump ship at the drop of a hat. I don't think any legitimate business is going to try to take everyones payments and then shut down, they would just get sued into oblivion.

Good luck. Speak to you again after the long weekend when you are still waiting for your internet access. Being without internet access for 3 days in a row is unprecedented and that without any form of explanation or excuse which should make you think. Reading the messages here and the article quoted and the phonecall I had with HD net made me think quite different.
Get out of NZNet while you still can and do not pay for service you do not get.

I have been with nznet since june

i have had nothing but trouble from them since signing up george thomas was the guy in charge then.

What i signed up for and what i got in the end was totally different cost me $280 for one of there modems to take the phone when i was suppose to get a free analog  adapter for my phones for voip. the plan cos me a extra $15 plus gst total was $133 a month for 30gb broadband and suppose to be free local and national phone calls until a bill arrived in the mail. The phone has been so unstable since connecting with them sometime working sometime not and also gets cut off after like 5 mins on the phone.

I have not had internet or phone for last 2 and a half days so went out brought a 2degrees stick. I have had enough of them, if they try to go me for the $200 disconnection fee, i will be taking it to the disputes tribunal, target and fairgo.

I have tried to call them countless number of times emailed them and the director stephen andrews, no answer, THEY CAN ALL GET STUFFED i HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

i HOPE EVERY ONE ELSE WILL DISCONNECT TOO THEY ARE NOT THE CHEAPEST AT THE END OF THE DAY OR HAVE THE FASTEST NAKED BROADBAND.

I HAVE SIMPLY TURNED MY MODEM OFF FOR GOOD WITH THEM

you sound so much like me. i have had so many bad bills from them. i cant stand it anymore. and after reading stuff from others on this forum. sounds like i need to jump ship you should take them to fair go. i am surprised no one has yet. and they really suck! i dont want a disconection fee when the service has been so bad. i hate phoning them. you cant even get a hold of them!

Sadly they are the only company with unlimited bandwidth so for those of us who use that much they are by far the cheapest.

But yeah, I can see why people would want to leave them.
