The Future with High Speed Broadband: Opportunities for New Zealand conference is being organised as part of the high speed broadband demand side study that the Commerce Commission is carrying out.

With the UFB initiative, many of the supply side issues of high speed broadband have been addressed. Our focus is to understand the issues on the demand side, the incentives for consumers to take up fast broadband, the services that may be available and the problems that may arise on the way.

The first day of the conference will have a series of international speakers, who will talk about the high speed broadband issues abroad and what the future could look like. The second day will apply the international lessons to the New Zealand environment. We are also conducting some SME and consumer research, to understand drivers and barriers to the uptake of fast broadband. The results will be released at the conference.

Please visit www.futurebroadband.co.nz to register and find more details about the conference programme and speakers.

When: 20 – 21 February 2012
