Hi folks,
I need to use adobe reader from time to time - and don't want to use the reader-app on win 8.  However, after installing Adobe reader XI I am getting prompted by it asking to access my email (addresses and contacts).  Does anyone know how to disable this  piece of software from attempting to access my email?

I am kind of really surprised that a company like Adobe would try something like that.

That's what I ended up doing - switched to another reader. I put their product in my "not-trustworthy" basket.

A standard Windows 8/8.1 install of Adobe Reader XI doesn't ask for that sort of access.

If you didn't download it from adobe.com then that could explain it. In which case, depending where the download came from, you might have worse problems.
