I upgraded the ram on a friends pc but it did not make too much of a difference to the speed the apps loaded up.

They have a 5400rpm HD and was wondering if it would be worth upgrading that to a 7200RPM drive.

Has anyone done any testing in this area to see if it improves proformance at all?

Some things to try.

1/  Clear the desktop of un-needed items.
2/  Defragment the hard drive.

Yeah done all the basics, defraged cleared out all temp files, removed viruses, stopped programs running that should not be running etc.

It did make a slight improvement but not as muched as we had hoped so that is why I was wondering on the speed of the HD.
