Hi All,

Over the weekend my wife's Outlook.com account on her PC using the Office 2016 Outlook.exe app went mad deleting all sorts of folders.  They were still there  when i looked on line.  I deleted her account in Outlook  that was showing Exchange ActiveSync  and recreated it again.  All went well but when it rebuilt it said it was showing as  Microsoft Exchange.  When she got to the community center today  where she works her personal account there did the same thing.  I walked her thru  the deletion and setup and all went well.  This happened to the community center Outlook.com account several months ago and a delete and rebuild sorted it .

I see that my Outlook.com account is still showing Exchange ActiveSync on Outlook 2016 and MAPI on outlook 2010..

Thanx in advance..

Regards,

Old3eyes

It looks like it's a random thing.  My home outlook.com email went stupid today  and did some crazy things.   Outlook 2010 would not sync and 2016  moved 50 items  from archive folders back to the inbox.  I deleted both accounts and now they are rebuilding and show as "Connected to Microsoft Exchange"

I believe outlook.com is just exchange online behind the scenes. There may have been a service issue this afternoon, but I don't know what or who was affected.
