I have a micro PC - with a ITX motherboard.

It has the option of installing a 2nd SATA SSD drive.

I have built PCs in the past so understand the connectors, but have not come across a mini\micro power port for SATA.

The red box on the left, highlighting the connector has the label SATAPWR1. Does anyone know what cable is needed, can you tell me the official name so I can source one.

cheers

Is there no spare power from your PSU? Would be simpler I think, even with a splitter cable from your first HDD's power.

If this is the only option, I have seen this type of connector before for things like fans. If you could find something that plugs into it, you could then cut the other end off and splice with a SATA power connector? Maybe have a look through old PC's or servers to see if you can find anything that fits and of course check voltage with a voltmeter.

I have seen these ports on small / mini form factor prebuilt systems (HP/Dell) where they either have non standard or external power adapters which don't have sata ports. I always assumed these were preparatory connectors.

See HP Part: 768427-001
