Got an email saying Lastpass has generously decided to kill XMarks. This has been quite useful when I synced bookmarks between different browsers when I was going through a 'try out every browser on the planet' phase and is still useful for syncing between desktop Chrome and laptop Chrome. Chrome can probably keep things synced but I don't particularly want to be signed in all the time. So any recommended alternatives ? Think there was / is one called Eversync - any good ? reliable ? any better alternatives ?

Thanks

Wats wrong with being logged into Google all the time ? Even a 3rd party solution will require you to be logged in all the time to keep things synced properly.

Install Opera browser on all of your devices including your desktop/laptop. It syncs between devices plus it's a superior browser to Chrome on a desktop/laptop and in my opinion is the Rolls Royce of mobile browsers.

The point is, it is exactly the feature you're looking for and it will do exactly what you want.....

Chrome is a memory-hogging pig but it's better on some sites so I need to use it for those. So I use Firefox as a preference. Hence the cross-browser bookmark syncing was required.

But as Xmarks for Firefox has been broken for some time I'd been using Chrome exclusively. Now, I'll go back to Firefox and just use its built-in sync.
