Oblivian:

Turns out you may not be alone.

6 month old issue with a recent post by Epson

ii Please Run the Epson Scan Application as Administrator .this is temporary solution Epson will come back with new Scan application version.
This Is affected only to windows 10 1803 Users.

Worth a shot nigel. I've seen apps like this. Won't go unless explicitly run as admin despite being admin

Or the old compatibility.. https://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/109669-epson-v300-not-working-properly-after-april-update-4.html

Guess what? Tried that LOL , and still no luck. Also found out, very recently, that my Event Manager does not work either.

Epson called yesterday and given the printer works on my laptop and not my desktop they are concluding it is a hardware driver conflict issue. They have advised to do a full reinstall of windows after a complete reformat of my c drive. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Give it a go this weekend and see what happens.

I have done this before to no avail but plan to do it again. If it does not work then I will just purchase the license for that scan software that was mentioned earlier.

After sleeping on it, decide to go ahead and purchase vuescan - works like a dream. And for the $90 is far less cost than wasting a day or two reinstalling windows.

Thanks for the advice guys - I consider this issue solved.
