Will this heatsink fit my Xeon E5335 CPU?

http://www.ed-it.co.nz/p.aspx?370534

I ask because the S604/800 leads me to believe it is for a different socket.

If it isn't right then can somebody please suggest where I can purchase the correct cooler.

Thanks

Sorry it wont! Your E5335 is a 771 pin, where as that heatsink is for a older 604 pin Xeon (the pre-core2 architecture)

Can you adivise what sort of case your Xeon is going into?

1U/2U/Tower etc, as this effects the heatsink size etc.

If its for a 1U or Tower I probably have a few kicking around.  Along with a couple of grand worth of obsolete 604 heatsinks...

The Xeon is to be the second CPU on an Intel S5000XVN board mounted in a CM stacker case. The CPU came with a 1U heatsink with the crazy little fan. Somewhat of a mistake on my part.

You will be after something like the above, very very similar to the 604, but from memory the leg hight is different. Ill have a dig around shortly for one.
