timmmay: Yeah stock will be fine for me. I'll wait until after lockdown finishes to buy, want to make sure I still have a job! Likely, but you never know.

I've been looking at motherboards, too many options with subtle and ambiguous differences between them. Making a spreadsheet to help decide on one, but probably no point until I'm ready to buy.

just look for ones with the features you need. then go read some reviews. but most mid range b450 or X570 boards will pretty much have all the features most people need, at a reasonable and are of decent quality.

What's weird is the variation in number of USB ports, presence of usb-c, memory speed variations. I hate having to sit through video record to get information, but I will at some point.

it just depends on how the manufacture wants to allocate Pci-e lanes and also what chipset they include on the board.

 

 

 

the video that @mdf posted is pretty good, i used it when looking for my X570 board
