Well, listings have actually popped up now for partner cards - from around $1400 up to $1800. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

Of course they don’t actually seem to have stock for another week or so. (If that’s not delayed as well). Curious to see if the extra 300-400 bucks is worth it between some models. Bench’s have started coming out as well.

Did anyone actually grab one? Or, as I suspect, they never actually had much stock and like the nvidia site as soon as they were listed it changed to out of stock in seconds haha. Or the other extreme where people grabbed like 20 and posted on Twitter about it -_-

A few reviews popped up for RTX 3080 AIB partner cards: MSI Gaming X trio, Asus TUF Gaming OC

As expected, a tiny boost of performance over FE, with better thermal performance. They are some chonky cards though, and real thirsty to boot; the MSI Gaming X pulls 425 watts under Furmark.

Ascent is showing some in stock, but at $200+ higher prices than the same cards anywhere else

Managed to grab one from Computer Lounge. Guess we'll see by shipping whether it was actually in stock like it said.

Wowsers! That is some serious coin for a 3080! Some peoples entire gaming rigs cost that :-)

No judgement, I just think manafacturers are taking the p1ss at this point to some degree.

Yea screw that. I think i'll be sticking with my 2070 super for a while. Hopefully well see a price drop maybe in 6 months time. I know the cards always come with a premium price tag at launch but damn.

Ah, so they did actually have stock. I wondered about that.

As a sidenote, they sent me an email for $100 off you put an order in for the next batch they get. Any model it seems - off the listed prices I suppose.

Code: RTX3080CL

It's says only valid from the 18/09/20 - 20/09/20, and I have no use for it. (I assume it'll work for anyone, but no idea). I'm waiting a few months for all the reviews and such - and to see if amd come up with anything. Might just get a 3070 instead - we'll see.

They made an absolute meal of it TBH. I like click and collect from them in Wellington to support the only large tech guys in my city but that was a cluster f#&*k. Looked more like some shenanigans like they sorted their mates out around the country first.

Over US$1,200 on the higher side? You gotta be s#$%ing me lol. The margin is mostly for fancier coolers so I wouldn't expect too much.

I've hit the sad realization RDNA2 is not going to compete with the 3080... if it could surely they would have leaked some performance numbers to prevent people buying 3080s. AMD really couldn't afford to be both late and slow this time.

I tried this code. It accepts it and says it was applied but the price doesn't change... shame...

Have you heard anything from them other than the confirmation email? I managed to get an order through for click and collect which I was hoping to pick up today but their phone lines appear dead and no reply online.

Also which card did you pick up? By the time their page stopped wobbling for me there were only 2 cards that I could see in stock with 1 unit each - ASUS TUF (non-OC) and the Gigabyte Gaming OC - I grabbed a gigabyte for the OC capability but I must say it was a fair amount over what I was hoping to pay.

Yeah - very much this - there was definitely something dodgy going on imo - there's no way that their 'devs' could have screwed the pooch so royally with something as simple as putting new products and stock numbers on a simple e-commerce site...

I reckon they simply sorted their friends and VIPs, and also I noticed that they updated a bunch of their 'prebuilt' PCs at the same time for ridiculous pricing.

Sadly it seems that this is the story of this launch worldwide. A bunch of reports from the US stating that even major retailers (Microcenter, bestbuy etc) had queus of 80-100 people with the stores only carrying 8-12 cards TOTAL - FE and AIBs. Apparently Nvidias page never actually showed a buy link and went from "Notify Me" to "Out of Stock" instantly

Seems like a paper launch. If I end up receiving my card I'll be stoked. But as it stands I'm half expecting to have my order cancelled by Computer Lounge at this stage
