Involuntary autocorrect in operation on mobile device. Apologies in advance.
Batman: Some browsers offer to store your passwords. Is it bad to use that?
PC World thinks so.... Generally around cross platform use.

I use lastpass and got the e-mail this morning about its changes so going to look at changing. I notice Microsoft Authenticator now has a password manager built in, anyone use it?

Wait... What?
Microsoft Authenticator lives on your phone only and doesn't sync to anything else (they do have backups). How is this different than using LastPass on your phone only (under the new policy) that syncs between devices and any point can be used on desktop (sync already done, just need to buy Premium, if wanted).
My point is - LastPass free version is functionally equivalent to Microsoft Authenticator (if you are only using it on your phone) so why change? Principle?

I'm using it on both PC (Browser extension) and mobile device so its either start paying for it or pick which device for it to solely run on

And if you go Microsoft Authenticator way then you will lose the PC component. Are you ready to manually type your random passwords by opening Authenticator on the phone and typing on the PC? Because you don't have that with free Microsoft Authenticator.
Authenticator is not a contender - look at the other suggestions here but look for something that supports app-entering passwords in both platforms.

Caught me by surprise as well! I was going to post a screenshot of the app but.... security. I still really like Bitwarden RS. Self hosted and good autofill.

Batman: Some browsers offer to store your passwords. Is it bad to use that?
It's as safe as the master password you use. Also for the infinite number of noddy passwords you need on blogs and web-forum sites and similar it's perfect even without a master password, since they're only there for spam control.
alasta:What is the benefit of using a third party password manager over iCloud keychain?
Nothing. The Apple Keychain is a pretty seriously-engineered piece of software, and since it's tied into iEverything you get good support across the Apple infrastructure.
