Ok so i now have to RMA one of my Seagate Drives, Which means sending it to Singapore

The site says to use the Origional packaging but i have since had a big cleanout and dont have any.

Does anyone have any spare Hard drive packaging, Hamilton preferred?

Thought they only RMA in the first year and that would be through the distributor.

Got one here actually.. but you shouldn't have to send it to Singapore.. it should be through your local distributor...

if it is out of the suppliers warranty they usually won't help you, that is its best to send it back yourself.

When I RMA'd a Hard drive I just covered it in bubble wrap and in a box, they seemed fine to that.

Yea just wrap it well in bubble wrap and then place in a box between some foam.
That's how I have sent HDDs back to Seagate and didn't have a problem.
That's how I have received HDDs from my suppliers too.

Also, you don't actually have to send it to Singapore.
Usually you send it to some freight company near/at Auckland Intl Airport, who then forward it on to Seagate.

I was in the same situation but contacted our usual supplier and they said even though I hadnt bought the drive from them, they should be able to get it sorted via the NZ distributor (Ingram according to Seagates site).
