8800GT was replaced by the 9800GTX.
4850 supposedly runs better than a 9800GTX.
4850 runs better than a 8800GTS with AA turned on.

This site will prob be of help :)

Have a look at Playtech....

XFX HD-485X-YDFK Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Support
$169.00 inc GST

XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 DX11 HDCP HDMI Display Port Eyefinity CrossFire Support
$289.00 inc GST

Theyre also offering free freight at the moment.

BTW, dont think that getting 1GB versions of cards is a huge bonus - its only really noticeable for textures at high resolutions and even then most people probably wouldnt notice :)

A 57XX card will deliver some good at the mo.

Its always good to search for benchmarks to see how it compares against other cards on your list.

If you were already expecting to pay around the $250 mark for a card, then why no to the current gen 5xxx AMD cards. Some good future proofing there!

Didnt say no to the 57xx, but the cards mentioned were all on the "lower" end of most users budgets, so kept to that range :)
