Unsure which to get, thoughts please?

Thinking I5 750 atm.


Single Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5850 or Cross fired?


I will be using the system to run games such as gta 4 and such in high detail.

He is a rough idea of the system i have atm.

Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz Quad Core Processor 8MB LGA1156

Need more information in order to give useful advice... what's the rest of the system, budget, what are you going to be using it for etc.

What resoloution is your monitor? Unless it's 2560x1600 then one 5850 should do just fine for all of todays games.
However if you want some future proofing the x58 platform has measurable benefits over x55 once you start SLI/crossfiring.,2517.html
Up to you, does your budget allow for crossfire and an extra $200 or so on a processor and mobo.
If it does then x58 is top dog and is the best soloution atm for multiple GPUs but otherwise the extra expense is harder to justify assuming gaming is all you're interested in.

Laptop: Toshiba satellite, T5300, Go 7300
Home Theatre: 32" loewe CRT, Harmon kardon amp, dvd player, image 418 speakers, rega planar 25 turntable :)
