You'll probably find there is a U2411 in the works. The question is whether the 2410 is adequate for your needs. If yes, then the price currently is more than reasonable.

That wouldn't explain why New Zealand is the only country to have such a low price at the moment.

NZ: 699 NZD
US: 762 NZD (after discount)
AUS: 1032 NZD
UK: 1242 NZD
France: 1256 NZD

As far as I can see NZ is the only country where the price has changed significantly since the monitor was released. I just hope we're not getting a whole lot of old stock (A00 revision) dumped on us...

The status on mine just changed to "Ready To Ship" so I guess we'll find out. According to the Dell US forums, the A01 revision should have been out February. Apparently they were reflashing A00s on return to A01 firmware with a dithering fix, but they were handing them out refurbished.

I'm in diagnostic imaging, so it needs to be accurate. Needless to say, if mine has a colour issue, it will being returned for refund or exchange (new) under the CGA, so I won't worry too much about it.

The dell U2711 is a 27" IPS monitor thats already out in the states, it uses the same panel as the new 27" imac but matte and no LED backlighting. From cnet's review they rate it even higher than the u2410 in terms of colour accuracy, it is raaaather expensive on the US site though (1,099 USD).

I emailed dell as to when it would be released in NZ a few months ago and unfortunately got no reply. If it came out at the right price I would be very keen.

Apparently all shipping ones since February are the A01 revision and manufactured in Mexico.

Dell China leaked the A00->A01 firmware update tool a couple of months ago, and there are multiple reports of succssful upgrades.

The order status on mine is now "With Local Carrier" so hopefully will arrive tomorrow. I'll let you know what revision it is and how the image quality is when it turns up.

Oooo that must have happened recently, I keep checking to see if it's out yet lol.
Good monitor, not so keen on the price though. You can get the same monitor but with an imac attached for only an extra $1000 lol.
I may get the u2410 if it stays at that price for a while then.

Thank you, I finally got talk to Elizabeth Anthony(?) from Dell, and she said it is Rev 001, not sure she give me the right number, but I ordered it online anyway...

The thing with Dell is that they have different product lines with Home / SMB/ Larg Engerprise, that could be the reason.

Looks like it was too good to last - the online price is up to NZD$1099 again today.

Mine just arrived at work, with a pretty good-looking factory calibration report. A01 revision according to the box. I'll probably set it up at lunch and have a play.

Gutted about the price rise, gotta be in to win i guess.

Mine was delivered today as well, but can't get my hands on it until after work. Let us know how yours looks!

Good to hear it's A01.
