Hi guys, my sister has a Dell XPS 630 which had come with a Nvidia GT 8800 graphics card.

The graphics card had crapped out and the store replaced it with a Nvidia gt210? card which does not play her sims 3 as well.

Can anyone recommend a good card that will run this game on the highest settings?

It is running Windows 7
Has a 750W power supply
3 G Ram

Why would they put in the bottom of the line graphics card from nvidia? Oh well, Gts 450 is recommended as the minimum for gaming in the Nvidia lineup.
GT450 - $166.75

If you want more grunt and want to spend closer to the $300 mark a GTX550 is a bit more serious.
GTX 550 - $219.00+

Dont forget ATI.
6670 is the minimum $158.95

6770 is better - $194.35+

Both the GTX550 and 6770 will happily run Crysis etc, may be overkill for the sims, but no matter. The 450 and 6670 are minimums for good frame rates and resolutions in modern games, but should be more powerful then the 8800GT.

Thanks for that.

Admittedly she did has just moved back from Australia and it was a PC store over there that had done the repair. She asked for a few things one was to install Windows 7 as it had Vista, they told her they would need to Box for 2 weeks. She was getting some app coming up on startup that was annoying and they couldnt get rid of it. took me all of a min or two (and I am just the average user)

I imagine she will want to go with the GTX550
