Hope they sort this quickly as my monitor broke and I'm using a 17" POS atm lol

I'm just gonna pop down and buy one of these if dell don't honor the deal http://www.dicksmith.co.nz/product/XC9012/philips-23-quot-fhd-led-monitor-236v3lsb

If it is a genuine error, they don't have to honour it. However if they are processing payments, and then sending order confirmations, that could be questioned I guess. Wish I had ordered one, as that is great value. Not as good the as 2410 IPS monitors which are excellent, but still good value if it was $199

I saw this price first on early Saturday morning (just after midnight). I went to bed and later in the morning I thought "what the heck, I am going to get one of those" and ordered one. Delivery is set for the 12th.

Have had it about three years ago that I similarly lucked out with a Lenovo Thinkpad T61P (top of the line) where imho they did not convert the currency (price was about the same as it was in the USD except it was in NZD and about 40% fo the RRP a week earlier).

Law of contract states that if you make an offer and they accept then they have to honor it, even if it is not in writing (but then you have the burden of proof).

It can be argued that this was an honest mistake and that they do not have to honor it. However I went to the Lenovo website during the weekend as well and they had Thinkpad specials on - RRP $3K+ and selling for $999.-  so a third of the price is not something that needs to be considered as abnormal.

This is not the first time nor will it be the last Dell has made a pricing error on one of their monitors. They usually honour the units purchased at the price and fix the price pretty quick smart.

Bet the person who entered the wrong price got roasting.

There is also the Contractual Mistakes Act 1977 where they don't have to honour it if the mistake is genuine. You often seen correction advertisements in store, correcting the error. SOme stores are forever displaying these. But often the good stores will honour errors, as it doesn't look good for them when they don't.
