Any idea on the 820? That is actually my ideal phone (Expandable memory!) I have contacted the networks but nobody can tell me. :S

I got a "hands on" with one last week and the screen on the 820 is miles behind the 920 and 8X.  Personally, I would not buy it just because of that.

400 x 800 AMOLED on the 820 vs the 720 x 1280 LCD on the 8X (and higher on the 920)...

Telecom have the 8S coming on the 6th December. No front facing camera and only a 4" screen... Does have expandable memory.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Got the Nokia Lumia 920 black here now. Setup in progress. What a difference in screen size to the Lumia 800.

3.7 vs 4.5" right?

I felt the same way going from 3.5" to 4.3" heh.

4.5" vs 4.3"

But the resolution difference is huge - 1280x768 vs 800x480

After some poor battery performance I reset my phone and it's heaps better. I took it off charge at 7am this morning and since then I've received a couple of phone calls, my exchange emails are being pushed, wifi connected all day, uploaded some photos to skydrive, watched a couple of videos and general internet browsing and I still have 80% battery.

Edit: spelling

I just finished setting up my 920, it's quite a change coming from Android.. figuring out where everything is..

You don't realise how tied you are to google for syncing, gtalk etc etc until you move off the platform

Does anyone know how to configure the MMS APN? The settings on the Telecom website don't really correlate with settings on the phone, there's no field for proxy and the max message site doesn't seem to like 614400 - it stops at 61440 :|

Did you buy a Telecom model or something else?

Sweet just ordered that Warehouse Stationary deal. $949 for the 920 plus a free copy of Windows 8 and 1500 Microsoft points. Mint!

In this case you shouldn't have to do anything, as it should be pre-configured out of the box. Just send a MMS to yourself to test.

Both the internet and mms settings were empty

I did transfer an existing number over to the new micro sim, which wasn't active when I first turned the phone on, if that makes any difference

Bit hesitant to reset the phone to defaults and start again now that the sim has been active for a couple of hours, there seems to be a lot of reports of bricking the phone.

Although this thread has a fix http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-920/203979-fix-bricked-920s-after-reset-flash-process-defined-inside.html

You don't need settings there, unless you are using non-standard settings.

I doubt it'll brick. I hard reset mine last night without any trouble, just to clear out my initial mucking around and start from scratch.
You shouldn't have to configure anything though, as has been said.
