WaxerNZ: I think its just a mix up with the app space issue.I read apps can only be run off internal memory, is that right? So that model doesnt actually have much space?
my 8s only has 4GB builtin storage but so far it is enough and I have the main apps I want installed.  I really wanted one with minimum 4 inch screen.  I used to have a HTC Trophy when they came out and liked it apart from the 3.7 screen.  For me a 4inch is minimum. Would like the 620 Lumia if it was 4inch screen

I would go the 620. It a great phone and should give you a lot of space compared to the p500. WP8 uses the space better on the main screen so you should not miss the extra .3 of an inch.
Also although windows phone 7 is still a supported OS and currently has the largest install base among windows phones, it is not going to get all the new apps. Similar to the android 2.3/4.0 split, apps developed with the new API's won't be backwards compatible.

There is a really good, positive, write-up on the 620 on engadget:

Well I've had my 620 for a few days now and I'm loving it.

The only major weak point for me is probably the battery, and hopefully once I fully discharge/recharge it a few times it will improve.

billgates: Expansys lists their price excl GST btw.

I think you'll find Expansys has no NZ base and instead are based in Hong Kong:
http://www.expansys.co.nz/customer-service/

Given that, it's an international order coming into NZ through customs and you only pay GST if the amount comes to $60 or more. So given that the total for the Lumia 620 including shipping is less than $400 you don't have to worry about paying GST.

I own a Lumia 800 and for me what made the biggest difference to battery was turning off 3G when not using the phone and running on 2G instead. If I don't use my phone at all at the end of the day I had 30% battery left but as soon as I turned off 3G I had 70% batter left at the end of the day, I work in an area that gets 1 or 2 bars for 3G signal strength and full bars for 2G.

Phone arrived.
So far I really like it. A few niggling things while I learn wp8 are the facebook chat having strange rules as to if it works(I assume like skype both have to be online for it to work). But also doesnt appear to download messages sent on desktop.

Went through contacts and joining email contacts to phone contacts. Lucky I dont have to many.

Hardware feels real nice. I would describe everything as a solid choice. Its built to be a low end phone but at the same time everything feels better than it should. Huge upgrade after p500. Nice ui and just getting things running how I want now. I have quite a few friends that just use facebook chat so once I have a reliable method of communicating with them I should have the basics sorted.

The shell is really nice as well. The two tone system is great.

Nice what colour did you get? I ended up with boring black due to cyan and white not being available at the time of my order.

Have you had any issues with using windows explorer to drag and drop mp3's into the phones sd card music folder?

Some of my songs show up as duplicates.  I had to turn off the xbox and cloud settings, and then used an external card reader to transfer the songs across. Most annoying.

Got the cyan. Looks good. No duplicates for me on sd card but taging leaves a lot to be desired. I have a couple of albums split thanks to that.

Getting used to wp8 and enjoying it. Still has a few niggling issues to sort but thats the os not the 620 which is going great. For people wanting games it looks like 1gb is a must though. I see a few newish releases are not supported. I dont play games though.

NZ$336 incl courier now via expansys.co.nz. No GST will be added since it's below NZ$400. They have all colours in stock.

Ah yes I too have had a few albums split, prior to turning off both xbox music settings off.

Which new games aren't supported? I've only had one crash one me...  some Redbull GO Kart game.
