Definitely the grip for me too... in black.

Seems a shame to replace my 920 so soon.. then again, the same happened with my 800. It's a new phone every year these days.

nathan: The Nokia Lumia 1020 will work on Vodafone, 2Degrees and Telecom

I figured that would be the case, I mostly want to know whether the Telecom sold one will do Vodafone 4G out of the box or whether it will require firmware flashing shenanigans.

Is this phone going to be locked for 4G until telecom launch it?

By that I mean if I buy it from telecom and use it on Vodafone will it work on 4G or will I have to frig around with the rom?

As you guys know I have on order from Clove in UK a Black 32 Gb 1020.
Still no email but on checking their website tonight.
Expected delivery of Black and white models 27th Sept.
What is very interesting is they are offering for free the wireless charging pad, wireless charging cover, camera grip and tripod.
so all looking good so far

That bundle of gear only applies to UK buyers, sadly.

Shame I thought it was too good to be true. Had a second look at the details. How did I miss that statement??

I sent a tweet to NokiaNZ and VodafoneNZ asking if this will be fully functional on Vodafone's 4G network but they can't confirm anything at this point...

I wonder why Vodafone are so slow to the game when it comes to windows phones vs telecom.

Since this is a Telecom phone you should ask them, instead of Vodafone

They cant seem to tell me if the phone will have 4g disabled or not.
They also are less than inclined to tell me if one of their products will work on a competitors network.

Given the fact the existing handsets Telecom sells has 4G disabled until they rollout 4G, its probably the same with this model

the Lumia 1020 will work on any NZ network

Does anyone have a use for 4G yet?  I'm feeling like a luddite but the current network speeds I get seem like 'good enough' for the stuff I'm doing on my mobile/paired devices and paying extra to blow my data cap faster seems like a step backwards.

Warning: reality may differ from above post

Yep, I can't see reason to pay extra for 4G right now.
