Philbert: Yep - that is what I meant. $250 cheaper than the NZ sold single sim variant

Sorry to re-hash an old post, but interested to hear if you to pay customs duty on your purchase from the CA MS store?

I see B&H have the duel sim model for CA$567 (incl delivery) which works out to be around NZ$650.  Obviously customs duty will be applicable, so after views/thoughts from anyone who has purchased from B&H before and whether they're reliable...

My last purchase was from clove, and that managed to get through customs....

I emailed Supero today re 950XL dual SIM phones and they said they were in stock (but not showing on Website) and cost NZ$849.00

Yes we have these available although haven't listed on our website just yet:

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Dual SIM 32GB Black (4G LTE) $849  + shipping

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Dual SIM 32GB White (4G LTE) $849  + shipping

Thanks

Yeah seems a lot cheaper to get it from B&H... especially if it slips through customs... but then again, it'll only be an additional $150 or so, so still cheaper than supero.  I guess the major difference is the warranty, and having to ship it back to CA if i bought if from B&H.

Edit: Grammar!

I am getting very weary of parallel imported phones especially Microsoft ones, Microsoft will absolutely not honour any manufacturers warranty for a phone purchased out side of its own stores or outside of the country of purchase, I have just been down this road with a Lumia 930 which was under 1 year old and my 920 which was only 18 months old. Even thats OK but for what seems to be emerging as a very very high failure rate of top end lumia phones including the 920, 930 and 950 a quick look on the net will reveal a host of manufacturing defects.

Aren't Supero phones parallel imported too? I think i saw an earlier post from someone who said their phone had Chinese on boot up...

I thought most of the MS phones/devices had a 2 year warranty on them anyway?  My 920 was bought from Clove in the UK and I had a warranty issue (battery issue) close to the 2 year expiry which they honoured, but I had to ship it all the way to them at my expense which is the only drawback to parallel importing IMO. But the price you pay for shipping it over is still a lot less than what the price difference in getting a phone locally - and having CGA.

As an aside, I decided to replace my battery the other month it the hope it would extend the life of my 920 (from MS authorised repairer Fonebiz) , but the battery performance is on par if not worse than pre-replacement!  I'm wondering whether I got a dud...

Yes Supero are parallel imported but they will carry the warranty, well at least for 12 months, would be interesting to query them regards to weather they will carry a 2 year warranty for Microsoft products. Being a Chinese Carriered phone is in my mind an advantage, from what I understand updates are more frequent than those for NZ carriered phones plus you may be able to get Chinese offline GPS maps (just a guess) as it seems that maps for China are only available on Chinese phones (yet to be confirmed).

News flash, Tencent will not support Windows 10 phones, whilst this may seem of little consequence what it means is that win 10 phones will have a 100% extinction rate in China and that almost no Chinese people worldwide will purchase own or use a Win 10 phone. (Tencent own run and develop QQ and Wechat..... ask a Chinese friend you will soon know what I am talking about)

Good one Microsoft lets alienate 20% of the worlds population endemic in China and then the other vast population of expatriate ethnic Chinese. How f'ed up is that as a companies product development outcome.

http://mspoweruser.com/reality-cruel-tencent-drops-windows-10-mobile-development/

and then to add insult to injury lets alienate foreign visitors to China by no longer providing maps for China to Microsoft / Nokia premium product Here Maps and Drive.

I wonder how much the CEO of Microsoft is paid? or is he running a campaign to destroy one of the worlds largest technology companies, maybe he is getting a kick back from their rivals Apple? certainly seems that way on the face of it, the  demonstrated reality leaves one in no doubt that this is the case (ask Sherlock Holmes about that one)

I thought that buffoon, Elop, had left Microsoft.  This is the sort of stuff he was good at.

If not, are we able to purchase from the US store? Or do they require a credit card with US billing address?

I can place an order in the order Cart showing both the XL and the free 950 with my Microsoft account and no warnings come up about being an NZ address holder so I guess it will let me do it.

I ordered my Lumia 950 DS from the US MS Store and then used YouShop to get it here.

No US Credit card needed.

US$649.00 plus the YouShop fees for repostage probably around NZ$30 then of course the GST and Clearance fees for NZ customs, my guess is about NZ$100.00 for that so...

US to NZ conversion @ about .67 about 970 give or take a little plus about 130 = NZ$1098 for a 950XL and a 950. dependent on dollar conversion and clearance fees.

I was at PB tech today, their price for a single SIM 950XL is almost that exact price

Man that isn't bad. Sell the 950 for $600 when it gets here. Or find someone here that wants it and split the cost fairly. Always wanted to try a Nokia phone to see how the camera stacks up against my note 5

Only problem is you can't put in the country and have to select a US state.
