I'm currently experimenting with Google Inbox on my Android phone. Lots of potential, but a steep learning curve. Like Gmail, the key feature for me is the automatic sorting of wheat from chaff into forums, shopping, social etc. I've also adapted to the Gmail way of doing things, and tend to dump everything into the archive/done when I'm finished with something, and then rely on searching to get it out again later. I
file/label almost nothing.

However, my shine for anything google is wearing off and I've got my eye on a Lumia 950 when they're released. I don't really want to commit a whole lot of effort to learn the new Google Inbox new way of doing things now if I may switch horses in the future.

Just wondering what other's use as their inbox/email solution - anything else cool out there, particularly anything cross platform?

I have both Office 365 and Google App accounts (both with custom domains). Ideally I'd like an inbox solution the dealt with both, but I'm open to having one just forward things to the other if, for example, the new app only supported Office 365.

I currently use the Android Outlook app for the Office 365 account, which works fine, but the focussed inbox option just doesn't work as well as Gmail, much less Google Inbox.

One key requirement is a consistent experience between notebook and phone - whether using an app on both or using a phone app and web browser.

I too am interested in the answer.

I use the Gmail app in Android, although I don't like it.  I preferred the old 'email' app pre Android 5.0.

I have 3 main inboxes.  Personal, Junk/promotions & work.  I would like to show Personal and Junk most of the time, and select 'work' only when I want to.  I can't do this in Gmail app.  It's either all inboxes, or just one inbox at a time.

So I used Outlook for my Work email.  This worked well for a while - Gmail for 2 personal email accounts, and Outlook for work.  But Outlook twice played havock with my phone (N5).  Took me a while to figure out the probably cause but since ditching the Outlook app I've had no issues.  So back down to all three accounts on Gmail app, which I do not like.

I just use the native email setup option under "Accounts" that allows you to set up various accounts (email, Skype Linked etc) In on my Nokia N9.

On my wife's Nokia 1020 you just add the accounts in a similar way, no special app needed.  So for the 950 I'd guess the email set up would be similar.

Have been using Google Apps for Work for almost the last two years, and don't know how I managed for all the years before that.

Just have to spend a few hours up front organizing and colour coding your email with labels and filters, then you're set :)
