Hi, has anyone had any success synchronising recorded TV (*.ms-dvr) files to Windows Mobile 6, using Windows Media Player 11? I have no trouble transferring music files, but when I try to include recorded TV, I just get a fairly meaningless error message. After reading more, it seems that WMP is meant to convert the files to a manageable file size (and format?). The conversion fails almost immediately.

I guess I could always perform the compression/conversion manually, and then copy over the resulting files, but it would be good to get WMP to synchronise as well as it does for music.

PS. I checked the digital rights (to the best of my knowledge), and there does NOT appear to be any security reason for the synch failing.
PPS. My mobile device is running WMP 10.3

It'd be easier to convert into WMV yourself to sync. I haven't tried ms-DVR to my WM5 (but then I don't use ActiveSync conduit, ever since I use OTA Exchange ActiveSync to Exchange server at home)

However, my experience with Creative PMC and Windows Media Centre was good, considering that PMC and WM devices will be recognised similary, and WMP will transcode ms-DVR when doing syncing. I find that, you need a right codec which will be compatible in WMP10/11 for transcoding to work.

I thought that might be the case. I will see if I can get it to work directly first though.

Is OTA a Exchange 2007 feature? I am using OMA on Exchange 2003, but use ActiveSync as well to keep my precious mobile traffic within my allowance.

Anyway, thanks for that - I have a couple of new things to try now, and a "Plan B" should they fail.

OTA = over the air. If you are already using Exchange ActiveSync and connect directly to the Exchange server (without the use of a PC and ActiveSync (desktop) with Outlook, then you already have OTA setup.

It's not Exchange 2007 feature, it's been exist since... Exchange 2003 (2000, even?)
