Hi

New to forums, so hope someone can help. When I turn on my IPAQ Hx 2490b get a message "unknown card in slot 2" even though no card is installed, then requests driver. When WiFi initiated "icon goes amber" but no networks are found any ideas?
thanks
mick

Is this the built-in WiFi? IF so, make sure you have a copy of all your files, synchronise one last time, and hard reset the device...

I got a PM, but I prefer to keep this thread up to date.

A hard reset didn't work - but you haven't told me yet if this is a built-in wi-fi or an external card. If it's built-in Wi-Fi then it's time to send the unit to repairs. If it's an external one, make sure you installed the drivers before inserting the card again.

Ok... And is this an external wi-fi card you inserted on your Pocket PC or is this the built-in wireless?

And you complete a hard reset, not a soft reset as recommended?

A hard reset erases everything on your device, making it look as new - you have to configure everything.

If this was indeed a hard reset and didn't help then I'd say the device needs to be repaired.
