I have a HP iPAQ 1940 and ever since the battery got fully drained i havn't seemed to get very much battery life e.g. just viewing avantgo the battery only lasts for about 1 and a half hours. I was just wondering if this is a known problem with lithium ion batteries and is the only way to fix it is to by a new battery.

This may be in the wrong forum and I'm not sure if this helps but anyway...

I accidentally let my ipaq 2210 go dead flat. When i went to charge it, it got very hot and wouldn't recharge past about 70%. I was worried about the heat so I took the battery out and let it cool down and then recharged it in bursts again with stops to let it cool down. It eventually got to 99%. It now seems to be OK except that it does seem to drain quicker as you say.

Are you guys using the wall charger or USB? I had a problem with my Smartphone where it went flat overnight (because of some over-the-air synchronisation problem) and wouldn't turn on even if took the battery out. I always had it charged from the USB cradle, but then I plugged it into the wall and it came back alive.
