I'd get it from phonesdirect if possible, very good to deal with.
As to the FM-Transmitter, a member at samsungi8910omnia forums has been emailed from Samsung Support and they say its there and will be enabled in a future firmware. That seems reasonably solid on face value, but then sometimes helpdesk/support people are completely clueless...

Orange made some minor charge changes, which didnt actually effect me but still have me an out in my contact after being in in only 2 months. So I canceled my contract, signed up again, got a second i8910 which I have debranded and will flog off.
Just so you (and any other owners lurking in these parts) know - the PC Suite Software Updater has an upgrade today. Last time this happened it presaged the firmware update release. Would expect a new firmware in the next few days to a week... Will be interesting to see what it brings...
So my phone arrived today, had a quick play and my god the screen is to die for. Definitely excited to see what I can get out of it over the next few days.
Be sure and check out symbian-freak.com forums for guides on getting your certificate and key files for signing freeware (and hacking your handset, if you're so inclined).
I'm looking at picking up one of these in the next few weeks. Wanting something to combine my phone and current PMP - cowon s9. it also has an AMOLED screen and similar media playing capabilities. I've never had a phone more complicated than my samsung envy but i've hacked various other gadgets so i'm not a complete noob. can you let me know why i would hack the phone? i can understand getting the certificate and files for signing apps that would otherwise not work on the phone but do you also need to hack the phone for these to work or is there another reason to hack the phone? i'm assuming that by hacking you don't mean debranding which i think it will already be when i buy it.
Seems that nobody stocks this model yet (I'm in Auckland) - I would prefer to touch it and see what it is like to use before buying.
Does anyone know if PhonesDirect is still around and if they sell this and what price? Their website is still offline and now their info email address is bouncing mail too.
I will be most likely buying the phone today just unsure where to buy it from.Expert infotech has a good price but after searching a bit found out not many people are happy with there service
Gadgetsonline has good feedback from a friend of mine who has purchased two phones from them, so maybe give them a look? They also have excellent prices.
Regarding the hack - you'll need it to run some of Nokias software like the Sportstracker...
thanks, i'm guessing the hack isn't too hard so i'll give it all a crack. Price spy has listings for these phones if you want the cheapest deal and they are also listed on trademe if you want to forgo your consumer rights for just the manufacturers warranty and a saving of a couple of hundred bucks.
another question on the hacking - does it have any effect on being able to upgrade the firmware? anyone know how the omnia 2 (i8000) stacks up to this one. Never having used a phone with winmo i don't have a basis of comparison between the two. My gut tells me the i8910 is the way to go though.
