i'm thinking of getting the quoted to deal with email, appointments and diaries, etc but want something that will double as a universal remote control. will the infrared beam be strong enough on these items to do said job. I used to have a ipaq 3970 a few years back and that did it fine, just not sure with these later models

any help or recommendations welcome, thank you.

Most current Pocket PC have IrDA, which is not suitable for remote control, which requires CIR (Consumer InfraRed). Some of the latest HP models comes with CIR though - the and RZ37xx series for example. They even come with a remote control program if I am not mistaken.

I had an ipaq 1940, the Ir is not good enough for that (and its on the side - what a pain)

I have an Ipaq H5450 for sale with CIR and Nevo remote software bundled (works -really- well).

PM me your email address if interested
