(Okay, first, apology to the mod if this topic doesn't fit in the right forum)

Then secondly... as the topic subject suggested...

I noticed that, after using PocketPC/Smartphone this long... there isn't a way to allow the PocketPC/Smartphone to connect to GPRS (WAN) via data cable/docking cradle etc but only via Bluetooth which can bee annoying and draining battery life....

I thought it would be possible to do something like what nokia is doing, data cable and set Smartphone/PocketPC as modem, and dial/connect out to WAN that way... good thing with this set up is, you can charge your phone and all you need is one power source to your laptop. :-)

Is there such solution?

No apologies required, this would fit in several categories here.

Heres an idea that sounds stupid, but i will say any way -
Will the bluetooth connection work whilst the unit is cradled?

Im sure I saw instructions flying around about 6 or 8 months ago for using the Harrier as a modem via cable/cradle, cant seem to find them now though.

Instructions and software to connect to Internet via Pocket PC Phone Edition (USB).

However you need to have WMODEM on your Pocket PC, which not all models have. Also this program is for CDMA, I am sure there's one for GPRS - could be the same, I have never tested though.

is this only for PocketPC? is there one for Smartphone too?

I know when you align pocketpc/smartphone to pc on IR port, it recognised it as IR modem... and yes it works with BT when on cradle... but smartphone2 sometiems will hang/crash when using BT and GPRS at the same time. weird i know... :-S
