Hi, I'm having issues syncing my qtek 9100 with my laptop. After a soft reset of the pda, it works like a charm. But if I disconnect it and a few minutes later connect again, activesync just tries to connect forever, until it says it can't. (or it can also say it have connected, and then it is looking for changes like forever)

I have checked all normal hints to sort this, related to personal firewalls, services enabled or disabled on the LAN interface for the qtek etc etc. The funny thing is that it works the first time but not then. When it is not working, a soft reset of the pda makes it work again. I don't have to do anything on the laptop to make it work.

Anyone who have any hints for me where to look? The Microsoft KB haven't helped me so far.

Welcome to Geekzone... First thing is to check that this device is connected directly to a USB port on your computer, and not to a USB HUB.

Then you should check that the USB is not using Power Management. Open Start | Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager and scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. For each USB Root Hub make sure on the Power Management tab the option for turning off the device for power saving is unchecked.

For software, issues, please upgrade to ActiveSync 4.1 now. Make sure any software firewall you have is not blocking this software.

On the Pocket PC itselft, using a registry editor check what value you have on HKLM\Comm\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RNDIS\MTU. It should be 1514 and could want to create a DWORD with decimal value. Be careful with this though.
