I have an application which the user installs on palm trea 700w, they get a warning "This program is from unknown publisher, do you still want to install application". How should I address this issue? How to install the trusted certificate while installing the application? How would the cab file know that the certificate has to go under root?

Welcome to Geekzone. You don't have to install certificate, instead you need to get this application signed. Please read the following articles:

  • MSDN: Certificate Management and Application Signing for ISVs
  • Mobile2Market Certification and Marketing Program

    Even with the warning the application will still run ok on the device though.
