The great think about Geekzone is there is always someone - usually Freitasm (!) who provides the answer.

I use activesync to link my PDA with Outlook. I have 3 email addresses. 2 synch with my pda but hotmail does not despite it appearing as a folder on Outlook (that's because I pay the premium to have Hotmail appear within Outlook. how do I access Hotmail emails without gonig thorugh the internet on my pda?

Thank you in advance to an expert out there

Andrew

Thanks for the note - we do have more users answering the posts, but usually in other areas...

If you are paying the premium on Hotmail then you can just create a new account on your PDA and configure to access Hotmail via its POP3 servers. You have to tap Send | Receive since it will not be automatic over ActiveSync (unless you configure a schedule for checking the e-mail).

Another alternative is if you have a Windows Mobile 5 device then the new Pocket MSN will log you in into Hotmail and MSN Messenger. It will automatically create a new account and synchronise to Hotmail, without the need to configure servers or anything - and without the need of buying their Premium service.

Pocket MSN is available as an extra for Windows Mobile 2003, but it's only available in certain countries.
