I posted this question in a previous forum but it seems much more suited to this one so here goes:

Does anyone know how I can keep my outgoing SMS messages in my OUTBOX until my phone finds a signal? As it stands I after a short while, messages go into my drafts box and then have to manually be sent if I find a signal.  I would much prefer the phone to automatically send the SMS messages when it finds a signal.

NOTE: I am using Windows Mobile 5 on a T-Mobile MDA

I'm using imate Smartphone2, and as far as I remember, it will sit in the Outbox and waiting to be sent when it has signal. It only goes into Draft if you save the message. So to let it sit in the Outbox, and wait till you get good signal to send, just send it regardless if there is any signal or not.

I am not very sure how this behave on PocketPC Phone, however, the procedure should be similar too. I will have to check my partner's PDA to see if it behaves as that or not.

I recently purchased the T-Mobile MDA which is a Pocket PC type phone utilizing Microsoft Mobile 5.  My phone only attempts to send the message for a second or two (when I dont have a signal) and then displays the following error message:

"Your message cannot be sent."

After which I find the message in the Drafts folder waiting for me to manually resend it.

I would be interested to find out if others using this operating system have this problem.  If not I might look into flashing my phone and installing a third party rom which will hopefully eliminate this behavior.

I am willing to bet however that it can be remedied with something simple like a registry edit however I've no idea which key would do it.

I see... well my hunch is that, this probably be a hard coded behaviour rather than a registry quickfix/hack, and possibly won't see any fix from reflashing either.

Do wait a while longer and see what other solution/suggestion that other guys can think of.
