Might swing by Noel Leeming to check it out. Quite tempted to get a tablet during my US trip in late November. Just not sure which yet.

i think nz retailers would just send them back to hp cause several use b/m stores are returning their stock back to hp, only the big chains participating in the fire sale

How did you get that price? Still shows up for $349 for me.

I spent the whole weekend ( well, nearly) trying to get one of the $99 ones, was so close on the HP.com site but then wouldn't accept my NZ credit card, needed a US billing address.
Was too late on Amazon as they sold their own stock very quickly. My cousin in Phoenix shot down to Walmart and Bestbuy but they sold out in minutes.

Slickdeals.net had something like 4 million hits on the post telling people where and how to get them.

One of the posts had a link on the possiblity of porting the touchpad to Android,...for US$99, that would be a great machine.

I expect with the 350,000 (reported) touchpads sold in the US over the weekend, that may put a dent in ipad and other tablet sales, since so many people have bought a touchpad that may have otherwise bought an ipad etc. I know, not all 350,000 but still even 50,000 people who were going to buy an ipad now got a touchpad?

Thanks Macuser! As I said spent the whole weekend trying to buy one and then you give me a link that actually works.

Wicked - now just got to find that post about porting it to Android - that's assuming it actually arrives, i saw lots of posts on slickdeals.net saying their orders were cancelled...
