*Slaps head*

So HP then sells to a company that does not have web or based everywhere in the country.

I doubt that HP sold all their stock to Smiths City. They probably just held onto what they had for longer.

It looks like the Chch store was a lone ranger.

Called the Smiths City here in Palmerston and the guy didn't know what I was talking about.

Did anyone here get the "yes, we have a lot of laptops with touchpads" response?

Me: Hi, you guys have probably been asked this a thousand times, but I thought I'd try, do youhave any Touchpads in stock?
SS: Touchpads? Ahhh, mmmm.
Me: HP Touchpads?
SS: No, sorry, hahaha, umm, no, we don't.

fab: Can anyone tell me the cheapest price they have purchased the touchstone charger and/or the genuine HP case for?
Am after accessories, but seems to be a big variation in prices?

guess what, I got them from the "good guys".... Acquire!!!  Laughing  I rang them the other day and asked if they have stock of cover and bluetooth keyboard.  The guy from Acquire said, I'll check our stocks and he came back saying, "yes, we've got heaps of them showing in our website!"  and i replied back, "yeah right, your website was showing 292+ of touchpads the other day..  The Acquire guy said, yeah, that's a different story...

oh well..  can't help to give them a bit of a dig..  with regards to the accessories, i didn't look around but i paid $25+ and  $44+ ex gst for the cover the BT keyboard.  I read somewhere that those tiny BT keyboard selling at trademe are working fine as well..  I haven't tried them so it's up to you.  I'm tempted with the touchstone charger as well but in the end settled with the cover and keyboard (for the wife, she hates touch typing)

but again, i'll end up with all this accessories and dont have any tablet..

Thanks for that - ended up getting a case and blew my budget on a Touchstone docking station too, some good prices on Acquire. Just over $100 for both, not too bad.

Poor form Mobicity. My politely worded Support Request asking if they can price match is not showing up in their system. They either have a buggy system (I didn't have an account and was prompted to create one to view its status), or they deleted it without response.

I know they received it, as I got a "Request received" email. It was this email that gave me the URL to check the support request.

Created a new account (the support link took me to their .com.au site and that a/c doesn't work on .co.nz), submitted the same request, and now I can see it.

I don't expect them to play ball, but you never know your luck.

Someone has posted at GPForums that apparently, someone in NZ, has 900 stock and they'll be released to retailers over the next few days.

However, I am taking this info with a bucket of salt.

I have started dialog with Mobicity. Their online sales rep advised me they can offer me a wholesale price for 5 or more, but he didn't know what that is. I've emailed their sales team. Note: I am specifically interested in the 16GB model, and this is the model I indicated in my sales enquiry.

Mobicity have indicated that the order can be paid for seperately, but I would imagine they may all need to be shipped to the same address. I am happy to forward any on, but will have to insist on postage fees up front first. Alternatively, I live in West Auckland, and work from home. Anyone who is interested is welcome to pick up to save themselves postage (although I think its only fair that any postage costs incurred by Mobicity is split evenly across all buyers).

I have also asked for an indication on the maximum that can be ordered.

If anyone is interested, please let me know. DM or dclegg at gmail dot com. I will report back on progress, once I get a reply

Do Tiger Direct ship to NZ?

Sounds like either Exeed or Ingram. Or possibly HN, if they haven't returned theirs yet.
