magu: Damn. In the time it took for asmcar to write this message, I ordered one myself. :D

What color did you get? I figured at that price with such reasonable shipping not ordering more than one would be a crime!

I already have a official HP case but want to see how this one compares before deciding which one to keep.

Got the black one. Didn't even see the option to get another colour.

I didn't see it either until I read the posts on precentral before I bought. There were 3 colors, grey was sold out. Then the Khaki and black.

asmcar: I have just order 4 X Touchpad cases from Incipio, three of them are black in color and one is Khaki. I plan on keeping the Khaki one for myself. The other 3 are up for grabs at cost price if anyone wants one. I figured i'd add a few extra to my cart while i'm already paying for shipping.

Link to the cases is here:

http://www.myincipio.com/HP-TouchPad-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-HP-TouchPad-KICKSTAND-Nylon-Case.asp

Cost of each case landed is $23 NZD (Rounded up from 22.5NZD).

If you live in Wellington you can pick up from Willis St for free, anywhere else in the country I'd ship via NZ Post for $5.

Total cost will be either $23 not delivered, or $28 delivered. Payment would not be required until the arrive in the country but I'd appreciate commitment to paying once you PM me your interest.

Pm me if interested. Remember there are only 3 and they are all black. First in first served, if I can't sell them on here i'll try my luck on trademe.

I'm very keen just need to secure the touchpad first lol! So keep me in mind but if someone comes along before i manage to get one that's fine. thanks

Yes, that's 1 allocated and 2 left. Please PM me your details sometime so when they arrive I can send them off to you (I will not send until payment clears, I'll PM payment details closer to when they arrive)

Remember they still need to ship from the US via Fedex, as it is a holiday weekend they will not ship until Wednesday US time at the earliest. So delivery may be a week or more away.

Apparently cases for the original model iPad are a good fit. That is if you don't mind paying a premium for the Apple logo on the box.

I can't see the pictures myself, ImageShack is blocked at work and it's too much effort booting up my 3G-tethered VM just to check :)

Looks like I can get the 32gb model from ebay without too much hassle for roughly $400 landed (give or take $10-$20). Given the price they're going for on TM, I could grab 4 of them and sell 3 to cover the price of all 4 netting a "free" touchpad.

Now the question, can I be bothered... :)

I've got one coming now anyway, haven't cancelled my 16GB MobiCity order, yet.

Mobicity :

Update 05/09/2011

At the present our agent is confirmed for 10,000 units, a proportion of which are ours. These units will arrive to HP at the same time that their remaining units sold through the HP US online retail sales division we will be shipping. They are coming from the same production run that have been in the news with Gizmodo, ZDnet, etc and described as the "last batch" units.

In regards to future stocks, we are told regularly that there will be no more stocks after this last round of stocks arrives, and it will not be more than 150K units and the majority of which are slated for HP's own direct retail customers and Best Buy in the US.

In regards to delivery time frames, we are now being told to expect them at the end of September, rather than early or mid September as first advised. It is important to note that no one, including us has received an invoice or contract for these units at this stage, and it is not HP's policy to do so in this specific circumstance until closer to delivery date. All we can do is continue the constant contact and maintain our committment and expression of interest. We believe that there will be another detailed update at the end of US Thursday and will update this post accordingly once we have further advice.

Following this we will also update our customers and then provide tracking information by email once we begin shipping. Until this time new orders will continue to be verified and placed into backorder. Order details can be changed and updated at any time prior to shipment, but an order is required to lock in your TouchPad as demand is still extremely high. If you have any questions please hit the 'Contact Us' link on our website or press the submit a request button above.

Updated this morning, they still can not confirm how much stock they will be getting although have pushed their shipping date back to the end of september. Kind of glad I cancelled now but if you still have an order with them there may still be hope...

Presumably the models MobiCity are getting don't come with a local power plug? (A very minor detail, I know...)

Good thing we have eBay.

Hi guys, just in case any of you missed it, we are planning to give away a 16GB TouchPad via the NZ Tech Podcast (episode 30) tomorrow. Currently the odds are looking quite good if you want to give it a try. I'd suggest putting an entry in tonight or tomorrow morning.

Unfortunately we don't have any cases or other accessories to go with it.

Details are here on my Geekzone blog: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/paulspain/7786
