Ok im completely new to the Bluetooth connection, but ive got the the basics sorted, the only problem is that im trying to set up an active sync with my Pocket PC M1000 (Seimens SX66) So i can install applications on the device...

The sync that came with the phone is broken (which is what forced me to get a bluetooth connector in the first place)

Now the Pocket pc DOES support active sync with bluetooth, but every time i try and set it up on the device, it tells me i need to bond with devices which support 'serial port or active sync profile as a partner'
My blutooth supports serial port...

Now i've got a serial port open on windows xp, but i cant do nothing with it, i'm thinking i obviosly need a program of some sort to connect with the pocket pc through the serial port (inbound is COM4, outbound is COM5) but i dont know where to get this from??? (there was no programs on the CD that came with the bluetooth connector.

Obviosly im a complete noob to this sort of connection (through bluetooth anyway)

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT THERE????!!!!!

You need ActiveSync installed on your PC, and configured to listen on the incoming serial port defined on your Bluetooth. ActiveSync is on the CD.

Have in mind that the first time you install ActiveSync you must establish a partnership through the USB, then you can configure it over Bluetooth.

After this first partnership is created then the ActiveSync Wizard will not show up anymore, so you are able to creat other partnerships (for new Pocket PC for example) over Bluetooth.

For configuration options, check our Bluetooth Guides.
