Is there any way I can sync contacts from Exchange into my iMate SP5?

Ideally I'd like to be able to select a subset of contacts from the address list - like one office or selected individuals.

Currently I have to add them to my Outlook contacts and then sync this, which is really stupid.  I'm happy to use a 3rd party util for this.

Thanks

Yes, you can have Exchange ActiveSync configured. Check this article: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=4048.

No need to configure the SMS push part if you are using Windows Mobile 5 AKU2, or if you don't want push e-mail with Windows Mobile 2003.

You can synchronise Contacts, Calendar, e-mail and Tasks. The last one requires Windows Mobile 5.0 and Exchange Server 2003 SP2.

Are these the guys in that company here in Welington? They'd do what to do. Peter T. was synchronising his Smartphone with their servers before.

I think it's just a matter of setup on your Smartphone. Plug it and on ActiveSync uncheck Contacts and find the option to Add a Server. Just walk through it and there you go.

The synchronisation is automatic while in the cable, and you can setup a cycle to sync with the server over the air, or do a push e-mail (if they support it, not sure if they do).

Yes, that's the one.  I can sync with mail and tasks and stuff, but from Active Sync 4.2 there is no settings options on contacts so all I get is my outlook contacts.

Oh, ok. So you are already using Exchange ActiveSync? Are you using any folder different than the default? ActiveSync will only synchronise with default folders on Exchange.
