So I walk into Borders and pick up the August Ed of PC World, there is a group test of 8 Smartphone/PDA devices in this issue so
flipping through just to read this article as I was in a rush, I come to the Eval of the Telecom Apache, fair report I thought then I come across to the iMate Kjam a Vodafone device had been award Editors Choice and a 9.0 rating!!

I was thinking hold on a second how can this be, the Apache is EVDO (3G) capable the KJam is not in NZ anyway (EDGE/GPRS only) this difference alone should earn the Apache a 9.0 editors choice over the KJam!!
The Apache also has a faster CPU than the Kjam a Intel Bulverde PXA270 at 416MHz vs a 195 Mhz Texas Instruments OMAP 850 for the KJam. It doesn't stop there the article goes on to say the KJam does not come with mobile versions of MS word or Excel, yet the picture of the KJam on the page clearly shows an icon for Excel mobile.. I threw the mag back on the shelf, I didn't have time to catch who wrote the article..

My opinions and ideas expressed in posts are solely my own and do not reflect the views of my employer in any way..

I don't even buy the magazine...

Some don't even look at the actual devices before a review (not saying this is the case, but I've seem lots of reviews with stock images instead of an original one. also, yes, all Pocket PC Phone Edition come with mobile versions of Excel and Word. The Smartphones didn't but new ones may come with, depending on which version they are.
