Help!!! I'm on my 3rd XV6700 in two weeks and can't get help from Verizon Wireless because their staffs don't know this machine. I'm unable to lock my system by entering a password. The problem is when I type in the "password" fields. When I type, nothing shows in the "password" boxes. The cursor doesn't move and I don't even get astericks. My other problem is that I bought a 2GB minisd chip and it's for this machine and it matches the shape of the dummy chip that comes with the PC, but it doesn't go all the way into the slot. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Welcome to Geekzone! To enter the password you must check the box "Prompt if device unused for" and select a value, otherwise the field will be locked and nothing can be entered.

As for the miniSD card, make sure the golden connectors are facing the back of the device, away from you (if you have the screen in the front). The miniSD card will not go into the slot if it's inserted in the wrong side.

Thanks for the quick reply. For the password, I did select the "prompt" option and tried several different times (1 minute, 5 minutes etc) to see if anything would work but it doesn't. I followed the steps from the manual, which are the same as these and still nothing shows in the password box. I tried it on all three PCs that I had and I had the same results for all three. I even had someone who hadn't seen what I did, read the manual and try the steps and he had the same problem. As far as the chip goes, I'll try it again when I get home but I know I tried with the metal strips towards the back a couple of times. It didn't go in but I also thought that way was wrong so I didn't try too hard. I'll give it another try. Thanks again.
