I'm feeling very meh about it so far. I think I've become a cynical old man.
BF3 is great, but it's clear it's just a money grab now. BF1942 and BF2 both had several years behind them, and some excellent mods. But I guess EA weren't making any money that way.
BF3 was released 2011, then the DLC 2012 so we all pay again. And now a new game this year.
Seems to me like every year you'll be paying for the privilege of playing BF.

Still, I'll go wherever the multiplayer base goes. So I'll probably end up forking out yet again.

It seems to me that the people who have most to gain are the next-gen console owners, I presume there won't be any restrictions for them this time.

Ahaha... yep i was thinking along the same lines, i'll give my gtx460 a bash at it before deciding upon whether it'll be worth it.

And yes, I do agree re:the dlc situation.  Thankfully I only ended up paying for one dlc and that was Endgame, which I must say is pretty fun.

Now I play TF2 competitively and Dota for fun so I am not exactly the target market of BF4

But I grew up on BF1942 and BF2, and BF3 just made me sad

They had a really good game, with amazing features and solid gameplay, and decided to go the CoD route with it.

No spectator support whatsoever for competitive play? What the FRUCK is that?

Add in the 'must have expansions' and my bucket of meh is over flowing - unlike the BF3 servers.

I will certainly make sure I am in the beta so I can see what they are bringing to the table but if they are willing to squander an amazing series I sure as hell won't be handing them my $$$

Yeah I'll be buying it but it looks more like Battlefield 3.5 than Battlefield 4 tbph.

Anybody here play BF3 on the PS3 or 360? I'm noticing more lag on EA's rent a servers on PS3 now its taking me more bullets to drop players than usual at times and experiencing morphing. Undecided

Can't be Snap cause speed tests are fine so I think it's a case of DICE/EA's servers getting worse after patches.

I liked BF2 where you can run your own server and install on multiple lan machines.

BF3 also was too much like some of the other online FPS war games.

I bought bf3, didn't play too much.

Ahh BF2... I spent a lifetime on Desert Combat :)

Talking about flashbacks and whanot, check this out Far Cry 3:Blood Dragon

They had me at the intro "It is the year 2007..."

Love that Psygnosis-ish logo
