We all knew it was going to happen....but now its official.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/04/end-of-an-era-disney-shuts-down-internal-game-development-at-lucasarts/

"While it seems the LucasArts name will live on as a brand to handle Star Warsgame licensing going forward, the developer is, for all intents and purposes, no more. It's the end of a game development brand that goes back to 1982."

More gold-standard reporting from Stuff; apparently "Star Wars" is closing its LucasArts subsidiary :P

Personally, I used to love LucasArts games but nothing produced in maybe the past ten years has really jumped out at me. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Can't say it is a bad thing. Lucas haven't made anything decent in a long time.

Having them just licensing out the SW IP to decent studios will be an improvement.

The only thing that I care about is Disney not pulling the SWTOR license from Bioware.

When a company hasn't come out with anything decent in a while, it's only a matter of time before the owners pull the plug, or sell off to a larger company.

I was just surprised they would pull the plug on something like this versus trying to build it up again and then pull the plug!
