Whats the real time game issues for PS3 users? Always bad? Often good?

Depends entirely on the host that you are connected to. Be it on Xbox 360 or PS3. I have seen many rage quits and rubbish hosts that my game was connected to. Don't have to worry about any of this with Xbox One now.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I was looking forward to getting an Xbox One. Been a Xbox gamer since the original Xbox, but Microsoft has lost me on this one. I hire a lot of games, and I don't like the fact that if for some reason I don't have internet then it becomes just a useless box to me, its like I don't actually own it or something.

Might pre order a PS4 today..

For me, The thing that makes steam good is the fact that about 6 months after launch I can get the game for $5-10USD, or a couple years after launch I can get it for $3 since there are a few stores that sell legit steam codes for far cheaper than Steam itself, Amazon for example. I dont think we will see Xbox One games dropping in value so quickly...

It looks as though this may have an impact on how the game library sharing will work though (ie it won't).

There'll be some people annoyed that the family sharing has been taken away. That could've have been beneficial to a lot of people. It also kinda sucks for all the fanboys who were vehemently defending Microsoft's decisions, what will they say now?

Personally I don't want to share my games, and I'd rather be able to play offline and sell my games when done. I think they made the right choice.

Not happy. I don't want to be dragged down with people who still wish to live in the 1990's.

Great read below.

I think the sharing would've been pretty cool but then again I don't think I would've used it that much. I'd much rather be able to take my xbox away with me and play offline. What I'm wanting now is a feature game that uses the kinect and not just these silly gimmicky games we have now.

To be honest I really thought they'd give it a shot, pre-orders might have been low in comparison to PS4 but I'm sure I read somewhere that they were higher than the 360's and for all we know either console might just completely suck, we won't know until they're out. I think a far better move to win back some of the market share would've been to lower the price.

Wow it would have to be a pretty cruddy holiday destination for me to want to take either of my consoles with me.

Each to their own. Also people who have kids, often take them as a backup in case of bad weather. The list of reasons not to have online checking is endless.

Also MS could have done a compromise. They could have ended endless checking or reduced it to once a month, they could have said sharing for ONLINE Purchases could continue and allowed people with physical disks to swap, loan or sell them.

Well that's another thing really, instead of backtracking on the whole thing they could've just added an offline mode that would have at least quietened the masses and they wouldn't have looked so weak.

I also have to wonder if this will affect any third party exclusives that Xbox might have arranged. I can't imagine Capcom was tickled pink to hear the news and was probably originally a factor in Dead Rising 3 being exclusive.
