I'm taking 29 November, launch day, off work. Being single has advantages and disadvantages but one major advantage is not having to explain to a gf or wife why on earth would I want to "waste" leave on a console launch. Man, this is a once in a 7 or 8 year event - who wouldn't want to take a day off for it?
Do what I did and marry the best woman ever! I take those days off and still don't have to explain it :)
She also takes the kids from the house on big game launch days.

Sounds like my missus, told me she'll take our daughter out on saturday and sunday so I can have some gaming time and convinced me I should get both consoles at launch :) She's definitely a keeper!
Guys, for those of you who preordered the ps4 from the warehouse, do you know if they are doing mid night release? I preordered mine from Petone, wellington a month ago and they told me they are likely to/were planning a mid night launch for it. Fingers crossed they are!!
Also, for those of you who play FPS online, do you know how dedicated servers may help gaming? I know they will be the middle man and therefore everyone will get good connection. Does that mean we will also get a better connection with people in the USA? Because there wont be my PS4s playing COD in the first few months :( Nooby question i know, but i just wanna make sure

Something like 150 one star reviews about these faults and over 600 5 star reviews (on amazon), Considering people are more likely to complain than to talk about how great a product is, I'd say it's just the general Out of Box failures we get with all electronic devices.
It's to be expected when you get a first generation of anything, I dont think I've seen a successful first generation of anything electronic in the past 10+ years that hasn't been plagued with some type of 'widespread' fault.

I am also able to use one, I had to do just the same as you, but singing the national anthem of Germany Backwards in Mandarin after sacrificing a goat. I am a busy IT person who makes a lot of calls, thankfully I work in a gold herding community. I just hope my neighbours don't catch on.
