I'm really looking forward to both systems I was originally going to only get the Xbox but have since convinced myself to get both. :P

So apparently there has been a CPU upgrade for the Xbox from 1.6 GHZ to 1.75 GHZ so over the total number of cores that's not too bad of an increase.

I'm not sure what the cpu of the PS4 is running but that certainly makes it a little bit closer lol.

Still of course the question of a release date seems to be not forthcoming.

Not only that todays rumour (the above is not a rumour) is that the PS4 may have a VR Headset available for it soonish. Could be a very interesting concept as I know the Occulus Rift certainly looks pretty good.

With all the backtracking and such, I had been looking forward to the PS4.  Im not starting to lean the other way though.  Two things have got me caught.

Max players - Sony has advised they will be doing a maximum of four controllers, whereas Xbox will be doing six.  (http://www.gameguru.in/hardware/2013/04/xbox-one-support-eight-controllers-ps4-four/)

For many people this would not be an issue.  But for me and my mates, every monday night, gathered in someones garage with a projector, we play an assortment of Fifa, Wrestling games, Bomberman and NHL titles.  Cutting down to four people would leave some people out for every game.  Its the reason we use a PS3 at the moment rather than an 360.

Capture capabilities - Sonys HDCP is always turned on, whereas Xbox can be turned off with a restart.

I have been looking at capturing lately, with moments I wish I had captured on the last console, and with Sony listing a maximum recording of 15 minutes, and who have not shown any of their editing software yet, Im leaning towards Xbox.  Having an external capture card would also allow me to throw it straight onto my PC.  The could would be greater, but that isnt really too much of a bother for me.

Let me know if my facts are wrong on either of these points.  Im still deciding and there are alot of factors involved.

Well also you can get a free Fifa 14 if get your hands on a day 1 console plus would get the added advantage of ultimate team as well if choosing Xbox over PS4 oh and the more servers for Xbox make online play (in theory to be proven) better as well. Other features that the one would make a sports games fan choosing Xbox a better overall option.

Forza 5, Battlefield 4, Dead Rising 3.

Between your options, RYSE. It's looking really good.

Dead Rising 3 actually doesn't look bad, I might change my mind, though is it like Dead Island where there isn't really a point? It's just a giant sandbox with no real objectives or does it a plot and conclusion?

The Dead Rising series is a bit more tongue in cheek, you can make crazy stupid weapons by combining items and some of the characters you meet are real oddballs. The cool thing about it though is the whole thing is in real time and you have a lot of choice but unlike most sandbox games you can't mess around playing mini-games if you want to accomplish all of your objectives.

Meh I like objective and mission based games with a finish.

I pre-orders AC-Black Flag which looks epic.

Went to Digitalnationz in the weekend and had a brief play with both consoles...

The controller on the PS4 is significantly superior in my opinion both in weighting, and feel and the sticks feel much nicer. I am vaguely contemplating the idea of cancelling my pre-order of the X1. (I have both on order)

Ohhh that is intriguing. I really thought that would be a plus on the Xbox side of things just by looking at the two. I'm in the other boat I'm yet to preorder either console mainly because none of the release games really jump out and grab me. Have you preordered any games for them?

I watched the living room demo a few weeks back and thought it was quite cool but imagined they would have taken a lot of creative license with it. In reality I saw this in the weekend and it did exactly like it was shown. If this is open to development I see a LOT of potential.

I wonder if MS will allow this type of development with their Kinect, I would guess not, but it's a shame if they don't.
